Hello Everyone! I am very happy to be serving as the student minister at Knox United in Ayr. I feel that God has truly called me to be here, and I look forward to journeying with you.
A little bit of background on me: I am currently a student minister and I attend Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax during the summers, as well as taking courses on line throughout the year. I am a candidate for ordination, and hope to be ordained in 2020. Although I am still a student, leading worship is not new for me. I graduated from Five Oaks as a Licenced Lay Worship Leader, and I have taught many courses on Biblical Storytelling at Tyndale and Emmanuel Bible colleges. God has blessed me with the gift of storytelling, which has taken me all over the world as a professional storyteller. I also have a background in Theatre and Drama, and taught Dramatic Arts in schools for the last 20 years. I live in Stratford, and I am married to Blair who works as an artist at the Stratford Festival, as well as loving to sing in choirs; we have one 17-year-old son, Gavin, who is the music director at St Paul\s Anglican church in Stratford. Music is a big part of our lives.
I am excited to be on this new journey into full time ministry. I believe that God has given us all different gifts and that we are called to use our gifts as a community. As a church, I believe we need to reflect God’s love for all people, build our relationships with Christ, and provide support and love for one another. I am passionate about mission and outreach, I celebrate the enthusiasm and vitality of children and young people, and I like to sing, laugh and dance in the Spirit in multi generational worship. Please come and meet me at Knox. My office hours are every Tuesday to Thursday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm, but I am happy to meet outside those hours any time – just call the church office.
Peace and Blessings, Gail Fricker.
